SEN Teacher

Our academy partner, is a high achieving and expanding special school for students aged 11-18 with Moderate Learning Difficulties. Many of the pupils also have diagnoses of Autistic Spectrum Condition and other learning difficulties. The Specialist Provision supports more able pupils with anxiety related non-attendance issues from across the Mansfield and Nottinghamshire area.

The Academy is in the strong position in that they are expanding their provision and also advancing their educational offer to best serve the needs of the pupils in the area. They are seeking a values driven teacher to work at our academy who will need to be inclusive for all our pupils, show ambition in all aspects of their work, be resilient and embed resilience in our pupils, demonstrate endeavour in all they do and always act with integrity.

They will need the successful teacher to predominantly deliver the curriculum in a range of subjects to a Key Stage 3 nurture provision and the teacher will need the ability to inspire our students to reach their full potential. You will need to be an exceptional classroom practitioner, hold QTS and have experience or demonstrate a passion to work with children and young people with autism and other complex needs such as pupils who present anxious related behaviours. Sspecialist support and training will be provided for the successful candidate wishing to make this exciting career move into special needs education. The Academy takes a very person-centred approach to each of its pupils’ learning to maximise their independence and realise their aspirations.
